What size pond is this filter suitable for?
This solar pond pump filter system is recommended for small to medium ponds of approximately 160–640 gallons. Actual filtration performance may vary depending on fish load, debris levels, sunlight conditions, and how long the pump operates each day.
Does it come with a battery backup?
No battery is included. The solar pond pump filter runs directly from solar power. An optional compatible battery backup can be added separately if you want the pump to continue operating when sunlight becomes weak.
Will the pump work on cloudy days or in the shade?
The solar pond pump filter performs best in direct sunlight. During cloudy weather, partial shade, or weak sunlight, the water flow may decrease, operate intermittently, or stop temporarily. Position the solar panel where it can receive unobstructed sunlight for the best performance.
Can this filter completely prevent green water or algae?
The solar pond pump filter helps improve circulation and remove suspended debris, but pond clarity also depends on sunlight exposure, fish population, feeding, nutrient levels, algae growth, and overall pond maintenance. We're using the pump filter kit in a 165 gallon pond, and it's working great.
Our back yard faces east so we're able to set the solar panels facing the sun in the morning and then flip them over to face west as the day progresses.
Works great for our little pond. Easy to set up and is very well made. As all solar powered items, doesn’t really work well in cloudy weather, but as long as there is some sun it still works, just not as powerful. Great product, very happy!

This solar pump is well made and uses quality materials. I did a test run on it and the solar panel works great, as does the pump. However, the ad never stated the pump flow/filter capacity. Looking at the pump output, this is probably meant for a small above ground pond, perhaps 300 gallons. I am going to give it a try on my in ground pond, but I am unsure if the capacity is enough, even with the pump running all throughout the day.The pump itself is very quiet, but unfortunately, it only works with full sunlight. I hoped it had a battery backup that could charge and run in the dark hours, but it does not. However, I can probably run a backup filter in the evening.
Using in our small backyard pond for a small fountain and to keep the water moving. Fairly straightforward to set up, although we could use a little more sun in the shady space. My teenage son was able to set it up himself, with a little help from Grandpa, and it's fun and soothing to listen to.
I have looked for years for a solar powered water pump. This is the first one I was able to find. Still waiting for the preformed pond to arrive. I am looking forward to a dragonfly pond with aquatic plants and a soothing water sound. Thank you.

This fountain is great. Easy to put together and works great. I would like to purchase a battery backup for the solar panel so it would work when the sun is not on the panel. I could not find it on the website. I would also like to purchase an extension for the center pipe.

The product is very simple and works as advertised. The solar panel is extremely sensitive which can be both good and bad depending on your application. For the price and function I’m satisfied.
Ok, so I do appreciate the solar capabilities but a few issues:
-the remote control for the light was missing so it just cycles through and I can't set it to a certain color
-the sensor that indicates the pump is in water is faulty so I needed to apply tape to get the pump to actually kick on in water
-the bracket for the solar light is a little weak so I beefed it up with other hardware
Worth getting in sale but keep your expectations in check.
The instructions are unclear and I don’t know what certain parts are for. I wish there was a battery backup option available as well. The pump works well in the sun, but the fountain heads don't seem to fit very well.

Very easy to assemble. After running for one day decided I needed a battery back-up as I think I need more aeration for the goldfish I'm going to put in the pond.I don't know what the dial is for on the front of the 30W pump. This was probably a return as it was packed very well but not in the original box. There was a 16 foot green shoelace type string in the box.,No mention of the pump dial or the string in the directions.
Not only is the product excellent, but customer support is even better. After using the product for about a month, my backyard squirrels decided to chew the wire on the solar panel. I was able to fix it with new hire and hot glue, but the best part is the customer support. They offered to send me a brand new solar panel to replace the squirrel damage. That is above and beyond customer service. I thank you and my squirrels thank you. :)

This kit works and will be fine, just takes patience to figure out what all the various parts are for and where they should go.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:It functions well. I would have rated it a 5 if they had included a long riser tube and put a ball joint on the solar panel so it could be stationary but moved with the sunshine. I particularly like the ability to control the pump motor speed. Otherwise it seems well constructed and was consistent with the description and promotional materials. It is working well
