FAQs
What size pond is this filter suitable for?
This solar powered pond filter pump kit is recommended for ponds from 340 to 1,360 gallons, making it suitable for garden ponds, koi ponds, and water gardens.
Does it require an electrical outlet?
No. The solar powered pond filter pump system is powered by a 70W solar panel, so no outdoor electrical outlet is required during normal solar operation.
Will it work on cloudy days or at night?
This solar powered pond filter pump depends on sunlight. Performance may decrease or stop when sunlight is insufficient. An optional battery backup is available separately for operation when sunlight is unavailable.
Does the kit include a battery?
No. A battery is not included with the standard kit. Compatible battery backup options can be purchased separately.
Can I adjust the water flow?
Yes. The solar powered pond filter pump system's built-in flow controls let you adjust the water output for different fountain and secondary water-feature effects.
Can I run a fountain and waterfall together?
Yes. The solar powered pond filter pump kit diverter valve lets you operate the fountain and a second water feature at the same time, with adjustable flow for each outlet.
Is PVC tubing included?
No. This solar powered pond filter pump kit does not include PVC tubing. If you want to connect an additional waterfall, stream, or other water feature, compatible tubing must be purchased separately.
Is the filter difficult to clean?
No. Easy-release clips allow you to remove the lid quickly and access the filter media without taking apart a complicated multi-component system.
Does the filter box need to stay underwater?
Yes. The entire filter box must remain fully submerged while operating, while the top of the fountain nozzle should stay above the water surface.
How often should I clean the solar powered pond filter pump?
For normal use, rinse the filter pads and bio-balls approximately every 2–4 weeks. Cleaning frequency may vary depending on pond debris and fish load.
